• If you smoke, quit (good advice whether or not you're preparing for cosmetic surgery). You should plan to quit smoking completely - not simply cut back - at least six weeks prior to your plastic surgery procedure, otherwise healing can be compromised
• To build up your strength and again to promote healing, be sure to eat a healthy, balanced diet
• If you're taking any medications of any kind, including prescription or the over-the-counter varieties such as vitamins, herbal supplements, aspirin, nonsteroidals (NSAIDs) or blood thinners, please disclose these during your Complimentary Consultation to either Dr. Chaffoo or your Patient Coordinator
• Show up at the Murrieta or La Jolla plastic surgery center wearing loose clothing that won't require you to pull off or on

When you arrive, a nurse from Dr. Chaffoo's medical team will greet you. If anesthesia is to be utilized, a licensed, board-certified anesthesiologist will review prior to your procedure the anesthesia that will be used during it, as well as answer any questions you might have. Finally, Dr. Chaffoo will visit with you to clearly mark the location of your surgery and to answer any questions or address any additional concerns you might have. In Murrieta, Dr. Chaffoo uses a licensed, board-certified anesthesiologist or anesthetist. In La Jolla, he uses MD anesthesiologists exclusively.

As your safety is Dr. Chaffoo's top priority, he uses only MD board certified anesthesiologists and anesthetists to administer your anesthesia and to monitor you throughout your surgery in La Jolla or Temecula Valley Plastic Surgery.
